Biography

Megan Sass, MA, CSP, LSPS 


Megan (she/her/hers) has 25+ years of experience counseling and evaluating youth aged 2 through 22 years as a School Psychologist. Her expertise with psychoeducational, psychological, and neuropsychological evaluation includes assessment in the areas of early childhood development, intellectual ability, cognitive processing including learning and memory, attention, executive functioning, adaptive functioning, academic achievement, and social-emotional and behavioral functioning. Areas of special interest include Anxiety, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Giftedness, Learning Disabilities, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Reactive Attachment Disorder. According to client request, Megan prepares evaluations for use by private individuals, in private clinics and schools, as well as translates various assessment findings into categories of educational disability as recognized by the NH and VT Departments of Special Education. 

Megan is a past President of the New Hampshire Association of School Psychologists, and is highly knowledgeable of Special Education practice, procedures, and laws. Megan is a certified developmental Circus Arts Therapist, and her background also includes extensive work with adults with major mental illnesses.

Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire and her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Notre Dame College, also in Manchester. She discontinued her doctoral studies at Southern California University just shy of program completion to raise her one- and two-year-old children upon the unexpected death of her husband. Megan has continued to learn and teach throughout her career.

Megan currently works as the School Psychologist for Hanover High School and conducts private evaluations through Hanover CBT. Megan settles for nothing less than excellence in her work. Her evaluations are grounded in Positive Psychology theory, emphasizing the identification of strengths as equally important as recognizing challenges, with a focus on each individual's uniqueness. She takes the time to understand your concerns and formulate an evaluation plan that provides answers to your most pressing questions. Megan strives to practice in a kind and compassionate manner that makes testing as comfortable and light-hearted as possible and seeks to infuse fun, play-based methods when working with children. Her comprehensive assessments are designed to be easily understood by a variety of audiences and have practical recommendations for making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she works with.
